ABOUT BETTO ARCOS:
Radio journalist, curator and music promoter based in Los Angeles. Betto is a regular contributor to NPR and BBC Radio 3, writing and producing stories about musicians and music from all over the world. Since 2018, he's the Latin music curator at the San Jose Jazz Festival. Betto recently published his first book, “Music Stories from the Cosmic Barrio” (Fogra Editorial) and is a founding member of REDPEM - Red de Periodistas Musicales de Iberoamérica.
ABOUT MOISES BAQUEIRO
Moisés Baqueiro is the founder of LA’s premier cumbia band El Conjunto Nueva Ola and the Morrissey/Smiths mariachi tribute El Mariachi Manchester. In 2015, he directed the house band for comedian Franco Escamilla on Estrella TV. He is also the musical director and bassist for Las Cafeteras. Born and raised in Mexico City, Moisés comes from a lineage of musical pioneers, including Cirilo “Chancil” Baqueiro, Gerónimo Baqueiro Foster, and Antonio Mediz-Bolio.
