The Healthy Breathing Program is now “Healthy Homes”!

Our community health promoter, Maria, gives a bucket of cleaning supplies to a community member during a home visit.

Since its inception in 2013, the Healthy Breathing Program (now Healthy Homes) works to improve community health and housing conditions by helping families create safer and healthier homes.

Our community Health Promoters are well versed in health education, and integrate with the South LA community to provide consultations, education, advocacy, and materials for safer and healthier homes.

Services provided include:

  • Asthma remediation and education

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

  • Home environmental assessments

  • Mold and asthma trigger education

  • Non-toxic cleaning education

  • Tenant advocacy referrals

  • HEPA vacuums and air purifiers (when eligible)

  • Community presentations on asthma, mold, lead, and pest prevention
