Our Healthy Breathing Program
What We Do
Esperanza's Healthy Breathing program started in 2013. Our goal since its inception is to provide asthma remediation services to underserved communities in South Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.
Our community health workers and promotores are well versed in asthma and educate members in their communities about asthma management and triggers, including how to properly use their medication and significantly reduce emergency room visits and hospitalizations due to asthma.
Our services are completely free and we provide materials such as mattress and pillow covers, spacers for inhalers, green cleaning products, and air purifiers to help members of our community effectively manage their asthma.
